Abstract

This research paper investigates the sustainability practices and socio-economic impacts of the marble industry in Kishangarh, Ajmer, Rajasthan. The study examines the regulatory framework governing the industry, including environmental regulations and their enforcement, and evaluates the effectiveness of current policies in mitigating environmental damage and promoting sustainable practices. Through primary data collection and analysis, the paper highlights key environmental issues such as air and water pollution, waste management, and health impacts on local communities. Additionally, it explores the socio-economic benefits and challenges associated with the industry, including employment generation, economic contribution, and the implications of rapid urbanization.
